The U.S.-backed opposition has played its cards, unleashing terror and economic sabotage against the Bolivarian revolution. Now it is the people’s turn, with the convening of a National Constituent Assembly with “the option of eliminating the old laws that bureaucratically block the processes of change.” The people have taken history in their hands, and will “sow the pillars of communal culture, where there will be neither owners nor slaves.”
The Venezuelan Constituent Assembly: Pillars of a Communal Culture
by The Philosophical Gathering of The Poor
“The Constituent Assembly is a mechanism that can initiate the process of eliminating the war.”
Over 100 days of extreme violence resulting in more than 100 deaths seems to be the only plan the right wing has for Venezuela. They impose such actions because they need to break down the social fabric, to push a confrontation that, at times, seems very close. The fascist right-wing upper and middle class impose a terrorist agenda financed by the U.S. and transnational corporations like Exxon Mobile. Their objectives are: overthrow constitutionally elected president Nicolas Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution, control of natural resources such as oil, gold, coltan, thorium and fresh water, just to name a few. Last but not least, the most important objective is to destroy and disappear the political/historical legacy of Hugo Chavez.
Chavez represents the political legacy of a poor class woken up from over 500 years of ignorance, fear and hunger. The National Constituent Assembly is part of our legacy as a class; it’s our constitutional right. On July 30th we will rewrite history and begin the process of diluting the war.
Amidst the demands made by democratically elected Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro, the right wing opposition -- a.k.a the terrorists -- will have to declare themselves in armed rebellion or join the game of Democracy. They have no other option; they can no longer uphold the false appearances created through mass media. Their game is over.
“On July 30th we will rewrite history and begin the process of diluting the war.”
Let’s suppose they decide to join the democratic game? They would lose all transnational/corporate financial support, because for the true owners, it is not convenient that the state structure is maintained in Venezuela. Their plans would be truncated. They have run out of time because they would lose even if they won the elections.
In 1989, the bourgeoisie of the world rubbed their hands with glee because the entire world would definitely be dominated by them. In their eyes, we were to be used as dispensable slaves, with little to no social investment. Thus they contracted us without any social security, reducing the work force to younger ages because they would no longer have to pay pensions. The workers would have to pay for education and healthcare, because everything would be privatized and the nation-state would disappear and the owners would dictate the laws.
What the owners did not take into account was that in Venezuela the poor had no intention of putting up with that, and since then we have lived a historical time that has not yet stopped.
“The right wing opposition -- a.k.a the terrorists -- will have to declare themselves in armed rebellion or join the game of Democracy.”
18 years after the Chavista government was established we can say, as a people, we have grown and won all the essential battles.
Today, in 2017, for the last four years we have faced attacks fueled by the world’s largest corporations. Corporations which use puppet states and NGOs, that use world controlling institutions like the UN and the OAS. Corporations that use former presidents, government officials, artists, athletes, etc., in short, they use anyone who for money can collude against us. Us, of course, being the people, the poor. Faced with all of this, we have experienced processes of purification within the force we claim to be.
In 18 years we have detatched ourselves from ideologies that only served to sustain slavery, in which we have always lived. The political parties, the unions, the different organizational forms, have disappeared or have had to adapt to the conditions of a new reality. That reality being that they can no longer speak to us from afar. Definitions in the military field have united the armed forces, placing them mostly on the side that they have always belonged to, the poor people we are.
“The political parties, the unions, the different organizational forms, have disappeared or have had to adapt to the conditions of a new reality.”
The leadership that guides us has been purified to achieve a cohesion that, even though it has president Nicolás Maduro as a guide, behaves as a collective direction, which aims in a single direction, creating an alternative to the slave culture in which we live in.
The Constituent Assembly is a mechanism that can initiate the process of eliminating the war.
Today we are a cohesive and strengthened people, a force that seeks to become knowledge, planning, territory, with the possibility and capacity to build the country we dream of.
From the Constitution of 1999 until today, the old structures that support capitalism have collapsed, and with them the organic political forms of the bourgeoisie have been demolished, leaving their pieces in a state of absolute fear. It is this very fear that leads them to hatred and terrorism. They are scraps of a defeated flag, which will never again flutter in these lands.
Why a Constituent in 2017?
In 2005 the political moves of the Bolivarian Revolution were halted when the owners decided not to participate in the parliamentary elections. Two years later Hugo Chávez tried to unlock the situation and proposed a reform that was sabotaged by the fifth column infiltrated in the National Assembly and distributed through all corridors of the State. Their fear, their ambition, their historical nonsense, an alliance with their own executioners, was more convincing than the possibility of continuing this wonderful journey in history.
Since then we have suffered terrible consequences, because everything that could have been done was delayed and that has cost us lives, because what has to die clings on, it does not want to leave and tries by all means to drag us to unfathomable historical coffins, where the usual tragedy ends up.
After many attempts to promote dialogue on the part of our leadership, after all the endless display of patience with which we have endured all the rogue attacks, they have taken refuge in absolute terrorism. Terrorism from the verbal to the physical. Our leaders have no other alternative but to deepen the constituent process.
“They have taken refuge in absolute terrorism.”
Today we call again to the construction of history; we are the force, and no one will turn us into cannon fodder. From now on, life for us, the poor, begins to have historical sense. Finally we understand the need to create thought that names us and with which we name.
The Constituent Assembly is the great opportunity to sow the pillars of communal culture, where there will be neither owners nor slaves. It is the option of eliminating the old laws that bureaucratically block the processes of change. It is the opportunity to think and strengthen other forms of production, to experience the other productive model, to create the mechanisms to transform ourselves as a culture. It's the time to establish legal processes that allow the creation of spaces where people are able to generate an alternative thought or idea.
The Constituent Assembly is a mechanism that can definitely initiate the process of the elimination of war.
