Despite repeated protests, the Philadelphia Orchestra is going ahead with a planned trip to Israel to join in the apartheid state’s independence anniversary celebrations. Susan Abulhawa, of the Philly Don’t Orchestrate Apartheid Coalition,” said the orchestra and its patrons are giving moral support to “the wholesale slaughter “ of Palestinians in Gaza, all of them defenseless against Israel’s technology of death.”
