When bagman Vigor Moribund came to town
Raymond Nat Turner, BAR poet-in-residence
13 Mar 2024
Democracy political cartoon

“Fascism is capitalism plus murder.”
-Upton Sinclair

“Behind every fascism
there is a failed revolution.”
-Walter Benjamin

As chilling as once acid reign in Spain—
symptom of anti-democratic disdain—
white supremacist poison like ptomaine …
Reich minister of caviar and champagne

You betta watch out
You betta not pry
You betta watch out— tellin you why—
Vigor Moribund’s comin to town …

He knows when you’re sleepin
He knows when you’re Woke
He knows when you’re toein the line—
And the times when you’ve misspoke

He’s a strongman—Never wrong man
Same ol’ song man—Been in too long man …
Bagman bringing Boss Tweet needed cash
Fattening Tweet’s dwindling fascist stash

Re-infusing the court-plagued $campaign
Fattening a fascist’s flagging dough-main
Yes … follow the bouncing ball and chain
Tethered to 1% politics—at least profane …

Now … picture EV Man and Vigor Moribund—
strongmen, strongboxes—World Fascist Fund
funding Tweet’s $campaign versus Ol’ Schmo—
Mass murdering mummy—AKA “Genocide Joe”
Tellin us, umpteenth time, what we already know
The whole rotten system—ASAP— must GO!!
