The Robbers Come Home to Roost

The Robbers Come Home to Roost
The Robbers Come Home to Roost

The US has made violation of legal and civilizational norms…normal, guaranteeing that the demons it has unleashed on the world will be returned-to-sender.

“The falsehoods keep coming fast and furious.”

American lawlessness and deception in the Middle East has been bolstered by confusion.  It is sown by policy makers to hoodwink the world into guessing games as to what atrocity Washington will unleash on the world next. History is now repeating itself in plain view. The Empire is running out of memes for its own mobile-obsessed public and for a world weary of an out-of-control imperial hubris that has been normalized by Washington and her servile allies.  No challeng to American declarations can be expected from the reigning Dem-GOP duopoly.  That would be akin to questioning motives and the moral standing of mobsters in their lucrative racketeering.  The duopoly is in lockstep with imperial malice and ambitions from the get-go. The dual-party apparatus is essentially flip sides of the same heinous imperial coin.  No voices of outrage from the faithful servants can be heard when the Empire is in its scheming mode.

Theft of Syrian oil better explains the confusion that comes with hefty doses of U-turns in the unfolding events of the Middle East.  Confusion on imperial intentions has now been laid to rest after the robber-in-chief himself, Donald Trump, declared “We're keeping the oil — remember that." He told a meeting of Chicago police chiefs, "We want to keep the oil. Forty-five million dollars a month? Keep the oil. We've secured the oil."  An unabashed declaration from a seasoned robber and one who lamented the fact that America did not take Iraq’s oil during George W. Bush’s invasion, mass murder and destruction of that country.

“The robber-in-chief himself declared ‘We're keeping the oil.’”

Truth be told, America’s DNA of plunder and carnage going back to the nation’s founding is finding full expression, and is unhindered in its coming home to roost.  That criminal abuse of Iraq -- still ongoing -- was committed under the infamous pretext of ridding the world of Sadam’s WMD, which later morphed into a mission for promoting democracy and, more recently, the self-fulfilling prophesy of helping Iraqis fight ISIS, itself a creation of the US.  As for democracy, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf absolute monarchies are not only exempted from representative governments, their abuse of human rights are actually rewarded by America’s protection racket of a string of military bases, ostensibly to “contain” Iran, a country which for centuries has not launched any wars of aggression on her neighbors.

Professed justifications in this swift move to claim the Syrian booty have included helping fund Syria’s “democratic” forces, keeping the oil out of ISIS’s hands, and helping the Kurds who only recently were unceremoniously dumped by Trump when he declared that the Kurds did not help America in the Second World War.  What of Russia, who sacrificed millions to oust Nazi Germany?  Then there’s the usual Russian and Iranian scapegoats, whose presence in Syria is at the request of the legitimate Syrian government.  But America’s occupation remains unlawful, despite pre-election campaign assurances from Trump that the US will disengage from wars in occupied Middle Eastern countries.  And the falsehoods keep coming fast and furious.

The MSM, the flag bearers of America’s “free press” labeled this latest exercise in robbery as “protecting,” not appropriating, Syrian oil fields against the wishes of a sovereign state. Any allusion to blatant theft, even when admitted by Trump himself, remains taboo in the corporate media.  But surprise, surprise, NPR has even suggested that American actions may violate international law. Or is this part of the push for Trump’s impeachment by his nemeses at the MSM?  The openly pro-Zionist paper, the Guardian, alludes to a “potential” war crime in this latest of seemingly endless outrages.  No mention of the crime of the forceful, criminal and illegal occupation of Syria that predates Trump’s tenure, and initiated by the ignoble Nobel laureate and drone warfare king, Barack Obama.  During Obama’s regime tenure, regime change in Syria was the buzzword.  That objective has now lost currency in MSM reporting of events. But then, laboring and speculating over the obvious would be the expected stance of these poor excuses for journalism.

“America’s DNA of plunder and carnage going back to the nation’s founding is finding full expression, and coming home to roost.”

Not to be bested, America’s divine face of bigotry, Pat Robertson, weighed in on Trump’s unexpected and hasty withdrawal from Syria.  He warned that Trump could be “losing the mandate of heaven.”  His presumed direct communication with his god, will keep his uncritical followers in a state of stupor incapable of analyzing the venom fed them.  This is the same man who claimed that Haiti had made a pact with the devil, praising the neighboring hedonistic corrupt Dominican Republic as a model of success, attributing their success to Christianity, conveniently forgetting that Haiti is a Christian nation with animist practices carried over from Africa.  Islam and Hinduism too were labeled “demonic.”  This, from a $100 million self-appointed emissary of Jesus Christ whose brainwashed followers reside mainly in the racist belt of red states. Robertson’s obscurantist views and hostility toward “sophisticated” Americans that believe in science remains a powerful tool to keep his flock in deep slumber, credulous and supportive of the crimes committed in Jesus’ and their names.  America’s leadership seems to have a ready supply of ignoramuses whose knowledge and appreciation of other cultures is nil.

After the fake, transitory “withdrawal” from Syria, word has it that the US is preparing to build two military bases in Syria’s Soor region, adding to the more than 800 known US bases across the globe and an unknown number in Africa, where the US is quietly inheriting Europe’s colonial legacy of rampage and robbery.  America is now the continent’s leading neo-colonial behemoth, thanks to the complicity of Africa’s corrupt regimes.  It is a continent that Europe once labeled the “Dark Continent”.  Trump went one up on his European tribesmen and labeled Africa the shithole continent, juxtaposing American designated, implied stench onto European fabrications of Africa’s darkness of continental proportions.
