Qiana Arnold is a birth justice associate and a full spectrum doula at Support Your Sistah at the Afiya Center in Dallas, Texas. She joins us to discuss the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling in the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA case that if allowed to take effect would sharply restrict the use of the medication mifepristone in abortions nationwide. The ruling remains on hold while the case makes its way to the U.S. Supreme Court. States like Texas are particularly hazardous to Black women’s reproductive health.
