Black Agenda Radio · Palestine and Censorship

Ali Abunimah is Director of electronicintifada.net, an independent online news publication and educational resource focusing on Palestine. He joins us from Chicago to discuss the much publicized case of Ken Roth, who was denied a Harvard fellowship for expressing some criticism of Israel while director of Human Rights Watch. How does his experience and the reaction to his case differ from that of Palestinians? Do organizations like HRW really advocate for the Palestinians cause?
Update: Harvard's Kennedy School reversed its decision and offered the fellowship to Roth, who accepted. He is certainly more privileged than Palestinians who dare to speak out against the apartheid state and whose punishments are never reversed.
