“The entire Democratic Party came after Ilhan Omar and the entire country stood with her,” said human rights activist Shahid Buttar, who took part in actions supporting Omar’s right to criticize Israel. “Frankly,” said Buttar, “we won while the Democratic Party, I think, has been rightfully chastened.” Buttar plans to run for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s seat in San Francisco in the upcoming Democratic primary.
