YACHT CLUB SHARES BLACK LIVES MATTER STATEMENT, PLEDGES MULTIPLE $20K DONATIONS TO SHOW SUPPORT

This week corporate funded NGOs, liberal sympathy for Trump, and Russophobia in progressive organizations were on your minds. We share your letters for “Beware the Movement’s ‘Controlled Opposition’,” “Freedom Rider: Liberal Sympathy for Trump,” and “Fear and Russia-Loathing in the National Lawyers Guild.”

In radio segment “Beware the Movement’s ‘Controlled Opposition’” Shannon Jones warns of corporate funded organizations profiting from the struggles against police brutality.

Wallace Nixon writes:

“This is a very old problem for some of our oldest organizations. Namely, the NAACP and Urban League are funded by outside interests. In fact despite appealing to blacks for financial support they don’t depend on them in the least.  Only self-funded organizations like the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense or Nation of Islam can challenge and standup for the downtrodden. These other groups are just going through the motions and maintaining a physical address to let people know they exist.”

“Freedom Rider: Liberal Sympathy for Trump” criticizes liberal figures such as Rachel Maddow and Ava Duvarney’s well-wishes for Trump during his recovery from Covid-19.

Reg Callaway writes:

“Americans seem to have lost any ability to fight even when they are being pushed off the proverbial cliff, It is with great bewilderment to see "liberals" going for the supposed lesser evil of Biden over Trump since he has not even attempted to offer up real change from the current nightmare. Except for Biden calling Trump a ‘clown’ during the debate, Biden has no policy shift away from 45. He has nothing, nada, zip to offer except more government-managed tyranny.

Also, disheartening is to see so many prominent Black leaders drinking deeply the Biden Kool-Aid and are lining up behind him, the same man who has one of the worst legislative track records for Blacks.  Biden made his bones as a legislature siding up with segregationists to keep Blacks separate and unequal, yet he's their man. Yes, they've de facto thrown their weight behind the corporate-run Democratic party.  This boggles the mind.

“Take New Zealand, a tiny country with a population of just 5 million, which is just slightly bigger than Kentucky, yet it has many national political parties catering to different ideologies.  There are two dominant parties, yet people have a plethora of other parties to choose from such as the Maori Party.

“The Maori Party has a platform that believes the indigenous people can solve their own problems through self-determination.  A major policy push of theirs:  ending the racist school to prison pipeline.  Yes, what the Maori Party is calling for is something Black Americans cannot have unless they take immediate steps to disown the two "White Man Parties."

Liberal Blacks expressing sympathy for the Covid President and those lining up behind Strom Thurmond's friend Biden is the ultimate in cynicism to keep Blacks from imagining something outside of the plantation home.”

“Fear and Russia-Loathing in the National Lawyers Guild” by Riva Enteen argues that many in the progressive lawyers’ group have given in to to state-sponsored Russophobia.

Victor Grossman writes:

“Hearty greetings and thanks for the NLG story and debate. It's a sad story; sad to see how many articles in left sites, like RNS and portside and in the NLG, when attacking Trump always find it necessary to attack Russia, Putin and, more recently, China. In a way it is clearly to ‘cover their asses’ (I see no need for asterisks). They feel it necessary to tell everyone: ‘You see, I'm not one of those radical, suspicious, maybe trolling Putin-lovers!’ It's so very reminiscent of the liberals in the McCarthy era -- with their disavowals (‘I'm no Rooshian Red!’).

“The basic truth, as I see it, is that it is not necessary to love, support or hate and oppose Putin or his domestic policies. That's a matter which the Russians must somehow decide on. But the slightest glance at a map shows how NATO, and essentially Washington, though with allies in Berlin, London etc., has been following a policy of suffocating Russia, not only economically (and with propaganda), but most importantly with an incredibly dangerous ring of weaponry, including the nuclear kind, from the Arctic and the Baltic to the Black and the Caspian Seas, drawing the noose tighter and tighter, most dangerously with the Ukraine, 400 miles from Moscow, the maneuvers in Estonia, Lithuania and Poland, close to St .Petersburg, and with their sights now set on Belarus -- whose borders are less than 300 miles from Moscow. For God's sake, any government leader has to protect himself against such threats, any way he can! Like having Chinese tanks and atomic missile-laden planes in Ontario or Baja California! It's so obvious!

“Of course, leftists should also see how the biggest sharks -- Lockheed and Raytheon -- plan ever larger weapon sales while Pfizer, Cocoa-Cola, Amazon or Disney to Ford and Gulf are drooling at the idea of a free rein from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok (and then China). And even the slowest should grasp that Russia and China, no matter what anyone thinks of their leaders, policies or societies, are the only real barriers to total world hegemony of those same elements which are wrecking the USA and, with it, the environment of the world.

“Otherwise we wait with bated breath and no little anxiety at the rapidly approaching November events! It looks as if the possibilities of bloodshed cannot be overlooked. As if you didn't have enough anxiety and problems there with corona virus, the ghastly fires -- and the soon possibly ghastly Supreme Court. Everything all at once!  What will come of it?”

The Russiagate conspiracy theory is being pushed to corrupt all progressive political thinking in this country. We must resist such hysteria.
