The World Does Need to Stop Singling Out Israel… By Holding it Accountable

Israel has been singled out for immunity rather than accountability, exposing the "rules-based order" as a farce.

“If the Israeli Zionists believe their present occupation of Arab Palestine is the fulfillment of predictions made by their Jewish prophets, then they also religiously believe that Israel must fulfill its "divine" mission to rule all other nations with a rod of irons, which only means a different form of iron-like rule, more firmly entrenched even, than that of the former European Colonial Powers.” - El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (aka Malcolm X)

Last week Conservative firebrand and talkshow host Tucker Carlson held an interview with Mike Huckabee who currently serves as the U.S. ambassador to the zionist ethnostate. The wide ranging topics Carlson pressed Huckabee on included myriad and salient issues including, but not limited to, the fact that the zionist ethnostate is harboring alleged pedophiles and sexual deviants,  as well as convicted spies like Jonathan Pollard, who Huckabee entertained at the zionist ethnostate’s U.S. embassy.  Yet, somehow these revelations were banal compared to what Carlson managed to get Huckabee to say out loud.

The so-called Greater Israel initiative, known in the zionist ethnostate as  “Eretz Yisrael Hashlemah”, the idea that the zionist ethnostate has the right to expand its borders beyond the 1967 lines, following the so-called Six Day War, to include the Occupied West Bank, Gaza, as well as Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and the Kingdom of Jordan was brought to light as part of Carlson’s interview with Huckabee. When pressed by Carlson if the zionist ethnostate has the right to all of the lands between the Euphrates and Nile Rivers as believed to be promised to the descendants of Abram (later known as the first biblical  patriarch, Abraham), Huckabee, who falsely believes that all of Abraham’s descendants are Jewish people, stated, that the zionist ethnostate has the right to conquer all of the lands of the present day Middle East, remarking to Carlson, “It would be fine if they [the zionist ethnostate] took it all.”

Huckabee’s comment led to concerted consternation by Arab nations including the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, as well as other nations including, but not limited to Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, and Indonesia who declared, in a joint statement that Huckabee’s affirmation of the zionist ethnostate’s claims to large swaths of the Middle East is, “dangerous and inflammatory,” and constitute, “a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and pose a grave threat to the security and stability of the region.” Yet this is not the first time the zionist ethnostate has proclaimed its plans to effectuate a Greater Israel project. For instance, last year convicted war criminal and current Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu  declared, when asked if he subscribed to a Greater Israel initiative, “absolutely,” and further compounded, “very much.”

It should be noted that the U.S. State Department has still made no comment disputing Huckabee’s comment to Carlson, which can only lead the masses to believe that, until we hear otherwise, Huckabee’s suggestion that “Greater Israel” would be fine  represents the official position of the U.S.

There should be no surprise that Netanyahu would hold such a view, and the same can be said for many in his government including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir who both have a history of proclaiming their desires to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from the Occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip alike - Ben-Gvir, for his part, has even taken part in inciting violence against Palestinians along with rogue and lawless settlers under the full protection of the zionist ethnostate’s government and its occupying force. It’s not so much that there’s no accountability for the zionist ethnostate, it’s more that it's being emboldened to continue its barbaric campaign against Palestine. This much is evident by the fact that the “ceasefire” that President Trump, other Western leaders, some Arab leaders, and even the United Nations herald as a great success still has not prevented the executions of over 600 Palestinians, and injured over 1,000 since it went into effect. And despite this clear violation of the “ceasefire,” the world has done nothing but watch it happen and offered nothing more than insouciant condemnations.

The same can be said about the international community’s response to the zionist ethnostate’s brazen initiative to officially annex the Occupied West Bank. Earlier this month, the Israeli approved a plan to reinstitute a “land registration process” that many, including Michail Braier of the Israel-based human rights group Bimkom, contend will amount to increased dispossession of Palestinian land.  This despite the fact that the International Court of Justice ruled in 2024, “that Israel’s long-term occupation of Palestinian territory – comprising East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip – was unlawful, and must be terminated ‘as rapidly as possible’.” But how do we even define “unlawful” if there is no mechanism, or willingness to institute one, to hold the zionist ethnostate to account for breaking the law? And this also brings into question if there even is international law when it comes to the actions of Israel.

A common retort utilized by the zionist ethnostate, its promoters, and its organizations/corporations that form the zionist industrial complex - usually preceding the moment that critics of Israel are labeled “anti semites” - is that “Israel is being singled out.” For instance, last year Washington Post  columnist, Ruth Marcus, argued that, “somehow Israel seems always to be held to a different, higher standard than other countries,” and accused the International Court of Justice of applying a “double standard” after ruling that the zionist ethnostate is committing genocide.  This is a very interesting take considering that Israel has never been subjected to concerted global punishment for its myriad and numerous crimes against Palestine and other nations in the region. When you consider the fact that the U.S. has imposed sanctions on nations like Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua simply for existing and exercising their self-determination, people like Marcus and others that claim Israel is being singled out are absolutely correct - just not for the reasons they believe.

As Middle East Eye reporter, Gregory Shupak wrote last year, “The idea that supporters of the Palestinians unjustly ‘single out’ Israel is an old talking point deployed by Israel and its supporters since long before 7 October to deflect attention from Israel's denial of Palestinian rights.” This is a true assessment, yet what this means is rarely discussed. Israel absolutely is singled out because the nation is demonstrably  held to a different standard when it comes to following the tenets of international law and international human rights law. Besides the U.S., which the zionist state is an extension of, what other nation gets away with murdering people in other nations as Israel did with Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh and attempted to do to a Hamas leaders in Qatar - a literal ally of the U.S - while they were negotiating a peace deal? Israel’s qualified immunity also has the effect of exposing the farce of international law while exposing the white “supremacy” ensconced in a global order that was built on and sustained by colonialism, oppression, and subjugation of the world’s majority non-white people. No one understood this better than El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz.

In what is believed to be his last public-facing essay, Zionist Logic, El Hajj Malik concludes, “In short the Zionist argument to justify Israel's present occupation of Arab Palestine has no intelligent or legal basis in history...not even in their own religion. Where is their Messiah?” I would argue that the zionist ethnostate does enjoy a Messiah - a false Messiah of subjective and arbitrary International Law that furnishes Israel with qualified impunity for nearly eight decades of denying Palestinian people their inalienable People(s)-Centered Human Rights, as well as other people in the region including, but not limited to, Lebanese, Syrian, Yemeni, and Iranian.

The proof of this arbitrary and capricious idea of International Law and a post World War II world order was put on display when Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, during the annual Davos Conference, proclaimed, “that the world order underwritten by the United States, which prevailed in the west throughout the postwar era, was over.” As journalist Eduardo Porter describes it, this so-called world order was predicated on, “The organizing principle that emerged from the ashes of the second world war, that interdependence would promote world peace by knitting nations’ interests together in a drive for common security and prosperity…” Carney specifically stated, “Great powers have begun using economic integration as weapons, tariffs as leverage, financial infrastructure as coercion, supply chains as vulnerabilities to be exploited,” he said. “You cannot live within the lie of mutual benefit through integration when integration becomes the source of your subordination.” A few weeks later, during the Munich Security Conference, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz echoed Carney’s assessment when he said, “the international order based on rights and rules is currently being destroyed.”

Both world leaders were clearly speaking from an Anglo-centric lens informed by white “supremacy” ideology. How else could both seriously claim that the recent machinations of Trump represent the beginning of so-called great powers using economic integration as weapons, financial infrastructure as coercion and the exploitation of vulnerable supply chains when the nations of both leaders have benefitted from this behavior for centuries at the expense of Global South nations viewed as nothing more than peripheral entities whose entire existence is meant to serve the profligate lifestyles and organized greed of the Global North core? The zionist ethnostate’s existence would not be possible without the financial and military support of Western colonial nations and fellow settler colonial projects like Germany and Canada. In the case of Canada, whose government has since offered symbolic, though not material, support for Palestine, the nation actually cut off aid to refugees in the Gaza Strip the same day the International Criminal Court (ICC) ruled that it was “plausible” that the zionist ethnostate was committing genocide. And Germany, a long standing ally of Israel, re-commenced its military aid packages - a move so egregious that Amnesty International referred to it as, “reckless, unlawful, and risks complicity in Israel’s international crimes.”

The irony is that if world leaders like Carney and Merz really wanted to restore “international order” and retake their places as beneficiaries of it, even if at the expense of the Global South, they would be calling for concerted action against the zionist ethnostate. Because the truth of the matter is that as long as Israel is singled out to continue its existence as a barbaric, genocidal, and terrorist ethnostate, there will never be international order. In fact, as long as Western nations allow Israel to continue behaving the way it does, they too risk losing the shaky and diminishing power and influence they have over the world. The international community must move on from strongly worded condemnations and engender strongly applied sanctions in addition to the immediate cessation of all forms of military and financial aid, as well as normalized relations with Israel. And these efforts must absolutely be shored up by collective  people-led sanctions through a robust and lasting global Boycott, Divest, and Sanction program.

Singling out Israel with accountability and punishment is less about anti semitism and much more about a choice - the global community can continue attempting to operate in a farce of international order, or it can adhere to the laws it instituted and the very laws of nature. For as El Hajj Malik reminds us, “If the Israeli Zionists believe their present occupation of Arab Palestine is the fulfillment of predictions made by their Jewish prophets, then they also religiously believe that Israel must fulfill its "divine" mission to rule all other nations with a rod of irons, which only means a different form of iron-like rule, more firmly entrenched even, than that of the former European Colonial Powers.” The likes of Carney and Merz, the United Nations, and the global community must decide if genocide, illegal occupation, and zionism takes precedent over even their ability to have any say in even an artificial version of international order.
