“We take the Duboisian approach, and say that the central agency of class consciousness and class leadership is to be found in the Black working class,” said Duboisian scholar Dr. Anthony Monteiro, one of the organizers of a November 8 and 9 conference on the Black working class, in Philadelphia. The event is part of a year long, citywide tribute to W.E.B Dubois.
