Keiko Fujimori finally won the Peruvian presidency with help from the U.S. ambassador, and her victory locks in another piece of the hard-right Shield of the Americas that is recolonizing the region.

Keiko Fujimori finally won the presidency after four previous failed attempts. Her victory comes after a hotly debated campaign run with the help of US Ambassador to Peru Bernardo "Bernie" Navarro acting as her unofficial campaign manager. Keiko Fujimori is the daughter of the former genocidaire and dictator Alberto Fujimori and former First Lady, Keiko Fujimori defended her father’s actions on live television.

Keiko Sofía Fujimori Higuchi was formally declared the next President of Peru in a close contest decided by fewer than 50,000 votes by the ONPE, or Oficina Nacional de Procesos Electorales, the electoral body that oversees elections. The Jurado Nacional de Elecciones, the final body that declares winners, is expected to make the official announcement by the time of publication. Juntos por el Perú (Together for Peru) candidate Roberto Sánchez conceded on Monday evening, June 29, despite having raised serious electoral fraud allegations against Fujimori and US and Israeli interests. While formally conceding, Sánchez’s legal team has filed for a recount of the second vote with the JNE  and has alleged fraud allegations during the entire campaign, as Fujimori had done during the second round of the election that eventually gave Pedro Castillo and the people of Peru the executive office but which was overturned in a parliamentary coup by the Fujimori-controlled Congress.

This win by the hard right wing in Peru guarantees the right wing of Nuestra América, Our Americas, another seat of power, taking over the region almost entirely by US and zionist interests. Secretary of State Marco “Little Narco” Rubio and Donald Trump’s Shield of the Americas have advanced what the Madrid Forum of Spain’s far right Vox Party and the Zionist entity’s Isaac Accords with Argentina have sought for years (and Pan European forces have for centuries) - the transnationalization of the European far right into Nuestra América - a recolonization of the Western Hemisphere led by the US, with Zionists and Spain’s hard right not far behind.

As this reporter has written previously on Peru’s strategic resources (lithium, gold, etc) and geostrategic location on the Pacific Ocean, along the mining corridor of the Andes and a location for a US military base should a  war with China become a reality. These elections were very important to the pan-European power structure led by the US for the region, for the lithium, and for the continuation of Zionist power outside of West Asia that brought about the creation of the Isaac Accords.

As Zionist soldiers fresh off a genocide start fires and colonize parts of the Patagonia in Chile and Argentina, as well as the Sacred Valley and Pisac, near Cusco in Peru, the masses of people understand that the cancer of zionism is not limited to Palestine and West Asia and have made it clear to those war criminals that they are not welcome. To now have a president who has been a dutiful soldier of Washington and Tel Aviv is a slap in the face to the bonds Palestinians and Cusqueños have had that predate the zionist entity as evidenced by the statue of Jesus in Cusco gifted by the Palestinian community who had been forced out after the Balfour Declaration prior to the creation of “Israel.”

But as we see the electoral backlash to the tepid social democratic so-called Pink Tide advancing throughout the region, the Bolivian masses have shown us what social movements have known since the start of the construction of the PanAmericana Highway for free commerce from Panama to the south of Chile, which is to blockade that route and to stop all commerce. Bolivians are merely doing what Iran did in the Strait of Hormuz - blockade the PanAmericana, and all commerce comes to an end.  Those of us from the southern part of the Western Hemisphere deeply understand that the PanAmericana is OUR Strait of Hormuz. And the masses of Bolivia have shown the world that they are opening up a new front in the war against US-led imperialism. So while this hard right wing advance occurs at the electoral level, the response from below is to remain in defiance.

Given that the masses of Bolivia have had two decades of base building and door-to-door grassroots organizing, they can get 6 million in a country of 12 million out in the streets to blockade commerce and demand an end to neoliberal measures. This is also why Bolivia has always been key in the struggle to defend the lithium - of the four countries in the Lithium Triangle (Bolivia, Argentina, Chile and Peru) it has the most advanced cadre in terms of political and revolutionary potential. Just as in the historical pre-Independence era, Bolivia’s rebelliousness will guide the rest of the Lithium Triangle.

What Sánchez and the Juntos por el Perú party apparatus, and the broader people’s movement for a real democracy from below must now do is what their Bolivian counterparts have done - organize. Door to door, block by block, barrio by barrio, engaging the masses of our people to join organizations and gain power to be able to confront US-led imperialism.

Comandante Hugo Chávez once said, “unidad, unidad, unidad!” when asked about what the masses of Latin America and the Caribbean must do to defeat the Yankees. Now more than ever, we need a unity of struggles, linking up our struggles to confront our common enemy- the US/EU/NATO Axis of Domination.
