“You put your right

Hand out, your right

Foot out, bow, scrape

Do de turnabout

Grab coattails of

De CEO...”

February 30th Movement

by Raymond Nat Turner

Now, ebry two to four years

Cap'n Fletcher come ridin' in

Bareback, facin' backwards

On Massa William's ol' mule

Feintin' right, floggin' left, like

An overseer righteously angry

Cap'n Fletcher say, "Shut up--

Listen!" Him say, Dem say

We weak

Misspeak

Too pure

Immature

For his movement

Him say, Dem say

Dey tell US

'Bout power

If we "Shut up--

Listen!" Him say, Dem say

We wrong

Not strong--

Dem German boys

Dat Russian boy

Be stark ravin' mad

No good

For his movement

Him say, Dem say

Dey tell US

'Bout power

If we "Shut up--

Listen!" Him say, Dem say

Power ain't perfect,

Power messy--

You put your right

Hand out, your right

Foot out, bow, scrape

Do de turnabout

Grab coattails of

De CEO,

Snuggle your snouts

In his hind and don't

Let go;

Maybe, jus' a tiny, lil'

Sugarcoat , movin', you

Hold your nose and vote...
