Washington Celebrates NATO on King Assassination Day
Black Agenda Radio with Nellie Bailey and Glen Ford
01 Apr 2019

Anti-war activists gathered in Washington to mark the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination and to protest the Trump administration’s birthday party for NATO. The April 4 celebration is a “desecration” of King’s memory in favor of “an aggressive, militaristic instrument of white supremacy,” said Ajamu Baraka, of the Black Alliance for Peace. David Swanson, of World Beyond War, said Russiagate “has led to an increase in hostility” towards the other nuclear superpower, while distracting from the numerous other crimes of Donald Trump.
