Wall Street bankers brought their brand of racism to the US imperial project in the Caribbean and Latin America, said Peter James Hudson, author of Bankers of Empire: How Wall Street Colonized the Caribbean.“What we see in the early 20thCentury in places like Haiti and Cuba and the Dominican Republic, is not only the entrance of finance capitalism, but its entrance through the lens of white supremacy.”
