Black Agenda Radio · Organizing Against the Trump Takeover in Washington

Afeni is an activist and lead organizer with Herb and Temple in Washington, DC. She joins us from Washington to discuss Donald Trump’s declaration of emergency power to take over the operations of the District of Columbia’s police department, the MPD, and to deploy National Guard troops in what he says is a crime-fighting emergency. Afeni will discuss her own experience with this MPD and national police enforcement, and Mayor Muriel Bowser’s support and acquiescence despite public disapproval of Trump’s actions.
