political theater

I.
When spooks contend and
Collude—
And fighting fascism’s too
Subdued …

Sometimes, the poet must get
“Nasty!”
“Nasty” as the nazi grifter who
Boasted he could puncture woman’s
Pronoun! Make it his hoe-noun—
Grab her’s/your’s/their’s—At will!

Sometimes, the poet must over-
Rule the prude—seem unglued,
Feed fast food—Slogan with
Platitude— to those in no mood …

Sometimes, the poet must intrude.  And get navy
Blue hued/crude/lewd— Even downright rude!
Be ‘That Dude,’ with attitude: Amiri/Allen/Gertrude—
Reaching for multitude!

II.
Sometimes, the poet must see blurry binary October Surprises through
Third eye chakra!  See $campaign/$election images:  J6 confederate
Christian fascists?  Or,  pink pussy-hatted, Palestinian-flagged brigades
Millions-strong? Keffiyeh platoons patrolling polls? Marching on War
House?  On White Supreme Courtesans in see-thru black robes? On
Capitalist Hill’s cheerleaders of genocide—Grabbing back Taliban night?
