“Self-determination is the highest expression of democracy,” said Omali Yeshitela, chairman of the Black Is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations, which holds its annual march on the White House and national conference this weekend. Self-determination “is what we are fighting for, and that’s what people throughout the Americas and the world are fighting for,” said Yeshitela. The U.S military occupation of Africa, through AFRICOM, is designed to deny self-determination to the entire continent.
