Black Youth Project 100 activists are urging New York City subway commuters to share their unlimited fare cards with poorer riders. “There’s no reason to believe that Black people are jumping turnstiles at a higher rate than white people, but we know that 90 percent of those arrested are Black or brown,” said Rahel Mekdim Peka, of the “Swipe it Forward” campaign.
