Blacks Launch Class Action Suit Against Ferguson & Jennings MO Alleging Discriminatory Over-Policing

Blacks have launched a class action suit against the towns of Ferguson and Jennings, Missouri, demanding compensation for disproportionate traffic tickets, fines and jailings. BAR executive editor Glen Ford discussed the case on the Real News Network. Glen Ford believes revenue is far from the only motive for over-policing in towns like Ferguson, and wonders whether, if the town elected and selected a black mayor, a black police chief over a majority black department, any different enforcement pattern might emerge.
