Estranged Careerists of the Corporate Black Cash-hounds (CBC)
by BAR poet-in-residence Raymond Nat Turner
Once, they shouted, âSay it loud, Iâm Black and Iâm proud!â
Now, their actions say it loud, âWeâre in the Cayman CrowdâŚâ
Our airâs polluted, our waterâs fracked,
Schools shuttered and homes jacked
As the Jesse Jr. and Unca Jim ilk
Spin pain into Rolex, and silkâŚ
Hearts transplanted with tweezers
For cold cash stashed in freezersâ
Obscene sums, mega amountsâŚ
Stuffing Swiss Bank Accounts!
Their lame posturing, tame gyrations
Strings pulled by the corporations
Struggle was âoff the tableâ long agoâ
Capitalist Hill is their IndieGoGoâŚ
They huff and puff âbout fluffy stuff,
When warmongeringâs not enoughâŚ
