Cynthia McKinney in Harlem : Confronting Neo Liberalism in the Age of Obama

If no video is visible above, click here.  It's too late to be disappointed with the Obama administration. As our parents and grandparents might say, it hurts too much to laugh and we're too grown to cry. The answer then, is to take stock of what we have, to assess our opportunities and to organize. We have the brains and the resources, says McKinney.

It's time for new plans, for new media, and new organizations to carry out those actions. Her part in these new efforts will be called DIGNITY, and will include a TV show to be broadcast on the web, on local public access TV and other outlets.

 

  On May 31, 2001 several hundred black activists gathered in Harlem to explore how the left will confront the neoliberal and pro-corporate Obama administration in the coming months. Cynthia McKinney, who represented suburban Atlanta in Congress for a decade, and who ran for president on the Green Party ticket last year explained how she intends to help build the future.
