Iran is a more formidable foe than the US anticipated. The U.S. goal of regime change failed because of Iran's military power and determination to defend itself. In Washington the "Secretary of War" denies promotions to Black and female generals and dismisses staff who oppose his plans. Professor Johnny Eric Williams of Trinity College Connecticut provides analysis. (This interview was recorded on April 6th, the day before Trump first made threats to destroy Iran before agreeing to begin a cease fire process.)
