A Black Agenda Radio commentary

by BAR Executive Editor Glen Ford

The era of Euro-American domination of the planet is coming to an end. Only the American public seems to be oblivious to this reality. However, five hundred years of white rule over almost the whole of the planet has created lasting scars on the rest of humanity - contradictions that may take generations to resolve. In the meantime, the threat of global conflagration will hover over humanity, since many Euro-Americans cannot imagine a world in which they are not in charge. But there is finally light at the end of this half a millennium-long tunnel: the subjugation of a planet by a people from a small corner of the world.

We're sorry, but the audio of this Black Agenda Radio Commentary is no longer available.

Revolt Against the Europeans

A Black Agenda Radio commentary

by BAR Executive Editor Glen Ford

"A new era of history is unfolding; a history that will not be written by white people."

There's a term going around in the corporate media called, "multi-polarity." It's really a euphemism, designed to describe the death of white supremacy over the planet. It's been a long time coming - more than five centuries, since the European invasion of the rest of the continents began, resulting in the death of untold millions of people. Whole civilizations were wiped away, to make way for a northern European global sphere of influence. Now that era is coming to an end.

It is not clear what the next stage of human development will be. So much damage has been inflicted on the human psyche by the invaders, the enslavers, the predators that swarmed out of Europe five hundred years ago. They have inflicted such great pain on successive generations, that the cost to humanity of their depredations is inestimable. We do not know what Africa would look like, or how Asia would behave, or how South America would have evolved, without the intrusion of the European invaders.

"It is time for the white supremacist Americans to learn the same lesson: they cannot rule the world."

They called their military imposition "civilization" - when, in fact, it was the death of civilizations. They described their resulting economic dominance "culture" - when, in fact, it signified the death of cultures. The world has been struggling to resist this invasion for a very long time; to throw off the yoke of white supremacy. It has been a long battle. But we are now on the cusp of a new stage in history, which is why the American corporate media are talking about something called "multi-polarity." What they really mean is: the Great White United States is not in charge of things anymore.

China, India, Brazil and South Africa have joined in a political and economic compact to resist the domination of the United States and Europe. The political-economy of capitalism dictates that these nations must be dealt with. The social realities of the United States dictate that it cannot raise a military force sufficient to suppress the dark masses. Europe learned this lesson a generation ago. Now it is time for the white supremacist Americans to learn the same lesson: they cannot rule the world.

So the corporate media now speak in euphemisms of "multi-polarity." What they actually mean is that the European invasion of the rest of the planet is over. Who knows what the next worldmic01 will look like? But it couldn't be worse than the world the Europeans brought: genocide on a massive scale.

A new era of history is unfolding; a history that will not be written by white people.
