Double life

by Raymond Nat Turner

A family man

A lovely wife and

Two charming children

A religious man

Attends church regularly

Wherever he goes

A cultured man

Invites great artists

Over to visit and share

An educated man

Attended and taught at

Top Ivy League schools

An anointed man

Laying claim to lineage

Including Dr. King

A peaceful man

Accepted a prize

The preacher paid his life for

An athletic man

He runs up and down

Basketball courts daily

Is like Santa Claus “making

His list and checking it twice,”

Deciding who to kill this Tuesday…
