Boss Tweet’s Blitzkrieg
Boss Tweet’s Blitzkrieg

I wake in a cold sweat,
scrambling for the internet—
What salvoes were let loose
while we slept?
How badly
Bombed is the safety net?
What rights are left?
What damage has the daily dose of
             shock and awe—Blitzkrieg—done?
Is blitzkrieg 140 character shtik
Boss Tweet cleverly crafts; swift
installation of fascist framework, no ALEC
edicts, just narcissist’s signature required?
Is it only the offal office
oozing orange pus—
Or, the whole bloody,
rotten, yellow-taped, white
supreme court, capitalist hill
crime scene—
Where thugs make law
when they break law?

We’ve waited like frogs in
our Flint water cauldron
while class war waged by
The 1% boils
We’ve made eloquent arguments to
madmen and women water-boarding
and bombing the world. Passionate pleas
to sociopaths—cold-blooded killers—for
Seats at the table—when we’re on the
Menu

But are we ready to have
a conversation on Race?
Race to resist, ridding ourselves
of killers torching Mother Earth—
Race to unite, training, organizing
ourselves ASAP!
If this Race doesn’t quicken the pulse—
Check your embalming fluid…
