Ford Dyson Debate on Democracy Now

NOT EVEN CLOSE
Dear Brotha Glen. As my late Grandmother Gloria Dangerfield would say. You beat that boy like he stole something. LOL...It wasn't even close. And I love how Brotha Glen kept his cool. He let Dyson talk. And the more Dyson talked the more foolish he sounded. LOL..Keep up the great work Brotha. PEACE & BLESSINGS...
Watched the video after hearing show - even better
the second time around. I also thought Dr. Dyson talked too much - the old technique of burying your opponent in words...but Glen Ford was neither deterred nor flappable while being "insulted". My husband watched the video with me on Saturday, liked Ford's presentation. A transcript is usually available on the DemNow website for people who have hearing disabilities www.democracynow.org - it goes up some hours after the show airs. I think it comes from the close captioning cc of the tv show.
Way to go Mr. Ford!
You won hands down. No contest. And I think Dyson knows it.
dyson's a nut!
Hetalks about real politik, but Obama cedes the field. He never even tried to persuade people, the people. He deactivated his cadres the second he won, and tehn went about his dirty business. Most of the things he has done have been things independent of the Congress. HE chose to setrtle with Wall Street, HE chose to support the putsch in Libya,HE chose to let the teachers in Wisconsi rot, the list goes on. He's a fascist. There are no "good" fascists!
YES! YES! YES!
This is a knife fight straigt out of the 60's!I was born in 66 Iwas achild but I remeber it. I read the writings of our great intellectuals from that period. Glen makes me proud to come from that period. Taking on the great Dyson without batting an eye. Bruilliant! Truth is on our side. Lead on Glen! Hooray!

Dr. Dyson Probably Agrees 100 Percent with Glen
Glen definitely makes some great points.
The interesting thing is that having once known Dr. Dyson, I believe that he probably agrees with 100% of Glen's policy views. Dr. Dyson is definitely an advocate for the less powerful and under represented masses, and there is no question about his love and appreciation for Black America. I just think that once we gain access to the White House, it's difficult for some of us to put that access in jeopardy by being critical. Dr. Dyson appeared uncomfortable because he knows that what you're saying is true Glen. Politics these days are such that Dr. Dyson would quickly find himself on the "outside" if he openly challenged the White House as you do, and I don't think that Dr. Dyson wants to be outside of the first Black White House. So Dr. Dyson justifies his tempered rhetoric with claims of the importance of being able to change things from the inside. I am not critical of this approach as long as one is working furiously to affect change from the "inside." However, I don't know that Dr. Dyson has that level of influence on the "inside," and Glen your point about telling the truth was a good one because many of us do make our decisions on the information that we glean from the (Black) media. Plus we lose all credibility when we flip-flop on issues based on who is in office.
Overall, your perspectives must continue to be openly shared. If we are not careful, Black America could end up in a worse place than what we would under a perceived more hostile regime.
dyson talks too much
Dyson loves the sound of his own voice. He can talk himself into anything. He's a paid attack dog. He goes on Meet the Press and provides diversion and cover.
