Freedom Rider: Mass Murder Hypocrisy

Being President of the United States requires moral multi-tasking. One minute you’re gloating over the bodies of people you’ve targeted for death, the next you’re bemoaning all the senseless violence in the world. “As the United States becomes more and more firmly entrenched as the world’s bully, it is insulting in the extreme for Obama to act the part of comforter-in-chief.” The fact that U.S. presidents don’t find themselves morally conflicted, tends to indicate they have no moral underpinnings, at all.

Freedom Rider: Mass Murder Hypocrisy

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The president is supported by millions of Americans as he overthrows governments and kills human beings.”

It isn’t clear when presidents were suddenly expected to appear at the scene of every disaster taking place in the nation. George W. Bush may be responsible for this dreadful trend, after he was criticized for flying over the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf coast in 2005. If he actually had a functioning emergency response system and rescued stranded hurricane victims, no one would have cared that he flew over without touching down. But the wrong lesson was learned.

Barack Obama is taking no chances. He shows up for every disaster. A tornado can’t touch down, flood waters can’t rise, and wildfires can’t spread without the president and his team creating new photo ops with unlucky citizens temporarily thrilled to see the president despite the fact that they have survived some sort of calamity.

Now even man made disasters aren’t exempt from presidential overkill. When a Colorado man shot more than 70 people in a movie theater, the media hype went into over drive, and the president who presides over his own “kill list” was front and center as he dished out heaps of sympathy.

Despite the hours of airtime spent on the story of the former graduate student who over-identified with characters in the latest Batman movie, there really isn’t that much to say about this incident. America is a country full of very crazy people who unfortunately also have access to large amounts of firepower. It is a bad combination, and the mass shooting has long ago lost its ability to shock.

A tornado can’t touch down, flood waters can’t rise, and wildfires can’t spread without the president and his team creating new photo ops.”

The place of mass murder may be a post office, college campus, high school, congressional town meeting, or in this case a movie theater, but the story is the same. A person thought to be deeply disturbed proves himself to be just that. Survivors and grieving families are interviewed, reporters compete with one another to see who can be more melodramatic, and we all wait for the next massacre.

It is unseemly for any president to use a domestic murder scene for political purposes, but as the United States becomes more and more firmly entrenched as the world’s bully, it is insulting in the extreme for Obama to act the part of comforter-in-chief.

Barack Obama not only assassinated American citizen Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen, but also made the decision to kill his 16 year-old son. The Awlaki family certainly grieved for their loved ones, just as the families of the Aurora, Colorado shooting victims did. But we aren’t supposed to think about the Awlakis or the nameless families of drone victims in Afghanistan or Pakistan. Nor are we supposed to think about how the United States has made common cause with jihadists to overthrow the Syrian government, and in the process killed thousands of men, women and children.

Barack Obama is good at being president, which means that he is good at masking the acts of evil he commits. He may instruct his minions to tell the world that he personally peruses his kill list and determines who should die. He then doesn’t hesitate to act like the leader of a grieving nation and visit shooting victims in their hospital beds.

America is a country full of very crazy people who unfortunately also have access to large amounts of firepower.”

The hypocrisy is open, sickening and blatant, but Obama always goes where his predecessors dared not. It is also important to point out that the president is not alone in hypocrisy. He is supported by millions of Americans as he overthrows governments and kills human beings. Americans still see themselves as good people, and their political leaders as the arbiters of what is right and wrong in the world.

Obama is correct in assuming that very few Americans will see his expressions of sympathy for what they are, a level of amorality that can only be achieved by someone who aspires to the highest office in the country. His words are either laughable or chilling, depending upon ones mood at the moment of reading them. “Now, even as we learn how this happened, and who’s responsible, we may never understand what leads anybody to terrorize their fellow human beings like this. Such violence, such evil is senseless. It’s beyond reason.” Perhaps it does take one to know one.

The president has moved on from the scene of the crime committed by the certifiably crazy person. Unlike powerful world leaders, the shooters’ act of evil will be scorned by millions of people. Too bad he didn’t have a high office and a fleet of drones at his command. If he had that kind of power, he just might win a nobel peace prize, no matter how many people he killed.

Beverly you are brilliant

This is amazing - and something I would never think about if I hadn't read your comment.  And it makes perfect sense.  As much as I am for gun control, mine includes the army of cops, too. You bring up a very good point about it.

Americans will go on believinig the official story, just like they always have, and down we go.

You

The other commentor left out were the shrink came from and just happen to show here out of thin air.

Thanks Margaret, yes if you have power you can kill whom ever where ever and it's OK.

Quite true.

I loved the line about a "tornado can't touch down." I was hoping someone at Black Agenda report could write somthing on the fact that this hypocrite dodt go to the NAACP or teachers convention and then showed up to the VFW convention.

Why waste time at the NAACP

Why waste time at the NAACP or teachers' convention?  He's got that sheeple vote locked up.

Batman Shooter - mentally disturbed nutter or govt covert ops?

When even a Fox News affiliate raises valid questions about the incident, the official storyline must be not totally truthful. Cincinnati WXIX-Fox 19 reporter Ben Swann poses good questions including:

Why did Holmes rig his apartment with explosives and then immediately tell police about them when he was arrested? If Holmes wanted to kill as many people as possible, why warn the cops ahead of time?

Since Holmes was a grad student in neuroscience, where did he obtain the skills to create a maze of bombs so complex that it took the FBI two days to disarm them?  I'd also ask how he got the funds to purchase all this stuff given that he was supposedly unemployed.

Despite police claiming every indicator tells them Holmes was a lone gunman, several witnesses have said there was more than one shooter. Why isn't this angle being reported more by mass media?

Swann reports eyewitnesses interviewed after the shooting said that Holmes received a phone call from someone while he was inside the theater and responded by moving to the emergency exit, suggesting the call was an accomplice coordinating the attack.

It will be interesting to learn what drugs Holmes was taking.  I'm sure he was on at least one of Big Pharma's lethal concoctions for ADHA, depression, bipolar or whatever the latest ill the drug industry is pushing.

Is it mere coincidence that Holmes worked as a grad student in a NIH-funded neuroscience program that specifically researched altered perception of time and reality?  Govt agencies such as CIA, State Dept, DOD fund research into mind control, germ warfare, and other doings once only read about in sci-fi books.  Excuse me for sounding like a conspiracy kook, but given the myriad of false flag attacks in which our govt is involved, there may be more to this incident that meets the eye.  How convenient for this to occur during the heat of campaign season to allow both cyborg candidates to milk the tragedy.  Again, another distraction from the lousy job Obomber is doing and the lousy job Romney will do if elected.

Further, the conversation turns to gun control as the police state govt would love to disarm citizens which would make them even more subservient to fascist rule.  The talk turns to gun violence but never any effective solutions to reduce said violence such as creating decent paying JOBS, providing single payer healthcare that enables everyone quality care regardless of ability to pay, neutering the mother of all dope dealers - Big Pharma - who has half the population on unneccessary and often lethal meds that lead to whacked out behaviors, providing quality housing and education to all, ending the govt's senseless wars and chaos worldwide which does little to stem the culture of violence seen here at home.

I see the Hollywood poser liberals have jumped on the ban all guns bandwagon; Michael Moore is again proving to be an apparatchik for the empire.  Thom Hartman and Ed Schultz are blaming the usual right wing bogeyfolk for the violence (no mention of the Dems role in police state legislation and illegal wars and aggression in foreign lands).  On the right, Murdock and Bloomberg are playing their apparatchik roles by cheerleading for gun control.  All sides coming together make fascism a reality in the US and beyond.

Well Bev Since You Started It_Call Me a Conspiracy Theorist BUT!

I'm on record here at BAR for favoring common-sense gun lawss [IE: getting rid of those so-called 'Stand Your Ground Laws' written by ALEC, the NRA & Walmart -&- that stupid AZ law that allows guys to carry guns into bars & have a drink, etc]- But I can see why guys like Alex Jones would be quite suspicious of the FEDS after that very curious FBI / ATF 'Fast & Furious' scheme that allowed Mexican drug gangs to get hold of thousands of guns!

I began questioning the official narrative of this mass shooting as soon as they claimed that the alleged gunman, James Holmes, gave himself up to the authorities [were they regular cops or ???] without firing a shot [nor even trying to]! Yes Holmes does fits the general profile for these kinds of mass-killers [IE: white male between age 18 - 40, loner, etc] but the usual script these type guys follow, is to either commit suicide or 'Suicide by Cop' rather than be taken alive. This guy allegedly had an assault rifle, shot-gun, & 2 Glocks hundreds of rounds of ammo, PLUS Full Body Armour- yet he supposedly just gave up to the 'cops' [if that's what they were] after shooting over 50 people without even trying to fire a shot??? HUHH??!! And then Holmes allegedly intricately booby traps his home w hi-explosives, but then tells the cops all about it- so they don't do what seemingly he obviously wanted them to do in the first place?!? HUHH??!! And just how can an unemployed guy afford $10,000 - $20,000 to buy all of that stuff & where did he get the specialized training necessary to set-up an intricate array of explosive booby traps??!!

Plus the gunman was not only in full black body armour but also wore a gas-mask over his face & helmet [IE: Darth Vader type get-up] in a darkened smoke-bombed theater, in mass confusion- meaning that even those who did looked directly at the gunman & lived to tell about it, Can NOT possibly Identify Holmes [or any-one else for that matter] as the gunman!

Then there's the fact that Holmes is a smart PhD student of bio-pyschology [warfare?], & also apparently much of the audience in the theater that night was from a nearby military base. But here's the kicker for me- When I saw Holmes in court the very next day- he looked totally spaced-out & not all together there! It was like he was on downers or hadn't slept in days [compare how Holmes looked in court to how Tim McVeigh looked when public first got a look at him the day after the OKC bombing]! So how does a guy that's all spaced-out & can barely keep his eyes open & head-up in court, meticulously plan & execute a mass shooting all by himself??? And just how in HELL does he set an intricate array of booby traps w Hi-Exposives while in a 'Purple-Daze' / 'Dazed & Confused' without blowing himself SKY-HI??!! And then he's supposedly able to tell the cops exactly how to go about defusing these booby-traps??!

Can it be that James Holmes might be a 'Manchurian Candidate' type Patsy [Note the RFK / Sirhan Sirhan case] ???

New Developments: Authorities are claiming they found James Holmes' notebook detailing his plan for this massacre in the Univ of Colorado mail-room allegedly sent to a university psychiatrist. So has this person been questioned & just what was her relationship w Holmes? Why was it NOT delivered- why wouldn't Holmes personally hand deliver it to his pyschiatrist's office perhaps during one of their appointment? Why would he leave it where it would be [conveniently] discovered [thus implicating him further]???

An Excerpt of the Report:} It's been reported that the notebook had full details and illustrations of how he was going to carry out the massacre.. Among the images shown in the spiral-bound notebook's pages were gun-wielding stick FIGURES blowing away other stick figures... Police and FBI agents were called to the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus in Aurora [the town where the shooting occured] on Monday morning [IE about 3 & 1/2 days after the shooting] after his psychiatrist [apparently a woman], who is also a professor at the school, reported receiving a package believed to be from the suspect. Although that package turned out to be from someone else and harmless, a search of the Campus Services' mailroom turned [so why did they even search the mailroom - if the original package delivered to this {Holmes'?} psychiatrist was so harmless] up another package sent to the psychiatrist with Holmes' name in the return address. A law enforcement source said authorities got a warrant from a county judge and took the package away. When it was opened, its chilling contents were revealed. Fox News said the package had been in the mailroom since July 12, though another source who confirmed the discovery to could not say if the package arrived prior to Friday's massacre. It was not clear why it had not been delivered to his psychiatrist. {
