George Clooney: CIA’s “Volunteer” Spokesman for Horn of Africa

by Thomas C. Mountain

Movie superstar George Clooney has put his mass magnetism in service of “humanitarian” warfare. His job is to point in the other direction when his masters and their proxies commit crimes against humanity and world peace.

Obama’s Responsibility to Protect is a License to Kill

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

Believing the Libya assault to have been a shining success, the United States will feel confident in launching new aggressions under the insidious rubric of R2P – Responsibility to Protect. The 2004 invasion and of Haiti was the precedent, “when the United Nations Secretary General lent his seal of approval to the occupation and endorsed Washington’s interpretation of the Responsibility to Protect.” Washington has turned international law on its head.

A Defining Moment for Africa: North Atlantic Terrorists Will Be Defeated in Libya

by Gerald A. Perreira

The Euro-Americans of NATO don’t seem so confident, anymore, about driving Moammar Gaddafi’s government into oblivion. “One thing is clear, if Qaddafi did not have mass support he could not be resisting this barbaric onslaught so effectively.” The U.S., France and others have begun talks with Tripoli, a sign that “the ‘Coalition of Demons’ is crumbling, with major differences surfacing amongst members on how to proceed with this ill-fated mission impossible.”

Obama’s North African War Face

by BAR executive editor Glen Ford

Whatever happens to Moammar Gaddafi, an independent Libya is not on the U.S. agenda. “Obama hopes to ‘stabilize’ Libya under indirect U.S. dominion through a kind of protectorate involving various ‘international’ entities, on the Haitian model.” The president’s doctrine of “humanitarian” warfare – like his rhetoric – is merely a sweetened derivative of George Bush’s more crudely presented policies. “In the final analysis, Euro-American hegemony means crushing the aspirations of all Arabs in the sand.”

Freedom Rider: Attack of the Cruise Missile Liberals

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Americans are warlike – as long as they think they can be victorious. These nominal Democrats and Republicans “differ only on who they want to see doing the dominating.” Today, a Black Democrat is the head killer in charge, allowing the likes of Ed Schultz, Bill Maher and Juan Cole to endorse the criminal assault on Libya. When the chips are down, fraudulent anti-war liberals show their true racist, Manifest Destiny-loving colors. “The true anti-war movement must reawaken itself and hit the streets in the hundreds of thousands.”

Obama’s Imperial Twist: “Humanitarian” Regime Change in Libya

by BAR executive editor Glen Ford

President Obama demanded regime change in Libya more than three weeks ago, but now acts as if that’s not his policy. He will use the assault on Muamar Khadafi’s forces to introduce so-called “humanitarian intervention” as an anchor of the Obama Doctrine. Regime change will remain a basic tool, while the “humanitarian” ruse expands imperial options. Obama may well opt to turn Libya into a kind of protectorate, as Haiti has become. Meanwhile, France interprets the UN mandate in Libya as allowing the Euro-Americans to act as air support for the rebel armed forces, as the French did at Benghazi.

“R2P” is the latest American device to justify military aggression and regime-change in the developing world. “The doctrine is a warmed-over version of so-called 'humanitarian' military intervention – another excuse for big powers to make war on weaker nations.” The doctrine is “reminiscent of the term 'protectorate' – a legalism for a country that is run as a virtual colony of one of the big powers.”
