Freedom Rider: Ferguson Reverberates Around the World

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The whole world wants to know where the “Ferguson” movement is going, and Russians are no exception. The author just returned from Moscow, where they “were curious about Barack Obama’s relationship with the constituency that supported him the most and why their needs are still not adequately addressed.”

Freedom Rider: Don’t March with Sharpton

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Al Sharpton is proud to serve as the U.S. president’s pit bull, and also doubles as a “leader” in the movement of the oppressed – the very definition of conflict of interest. Clearly, if he is to honor his pact with Power, he must betray the people, including those who rally to his banner in this weekend’s national march against police violence, in Washington.

Freedom Rider: Ferguson’s Reckoning for Obama

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Black folks should have only one thing to say to President Obama: “’Prosecute!’ Every time Eric Holder or Barack Obama or a high profile misleader turns up in public they must be met with this very simple demand.” The only thing standing in the way of civil rights charges against Darren Wilson is Obama, himself.

Freedom Rider: Bill Cosby and Michael Brown

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Unrepentant old rapists aren’t funny. Nor are they good media investments. Karma has caught up with Bill Cosby, who slandered the Black poor as amoral criminals, but “will never have another television show or book on the best seller list and that is as it should be.”

Freedom Rider: Jackson, Sharpton, Holder and Ferguson

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Those who seek justice for Michael Brown should ignore Reverends Jackson and Sharpton, who serve only themselves and Power. One man can order a federal prosecution of officer Darren Wilson. It’s not Eric Holder, but the attorney general’s boss. “If there is no federal prosecution of Darren Wilson, the political disaster of the Obama presidency will be made crystal clear.”

Freedom Rider: Obama's Feet To The Fire? Not Likely. Not Ever.

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Talk about holding President Obama's feet to the fire was always empty noise, as many making it surely knew. In fact the US political system provides few or no ways for anyone except the wealthy to influence what legislators, judges, governors or presidents do, and many ways to ensure that those (s)elected to high office are disposed to protect the rights of the 1% against the 99%. Clearly, the First Black President is only serving his corporate masters, not serving us.

Freedom Rider: The Working Families Party Must Go

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo loves to show his disdain for the left, including the fake left represented by the Working Families Party (WFP). Cuomo “expanded the number of charter schools and bragged about giving tax relief to corporations and wealthy people.” When the gutless WFP endorsed him, anyway, Cuomo created an even more bogus “party” to compete with them. Amid all this fakery, the only left choice was the Greens.

Freedom Rider: The World Must Judge America’s Human Rights Abuses

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

For Black people in America, getting justice has little or nothing to do with facts or evidence or common sense. White supremacy trumps all, even if the president and the top federal lawman are Black. “Obama and attorney general Eric Holder have no intention of prosecuting police murder, no matter what videos or other evidence show.”

Freedom Rider: The New York Times Assassinates Michael Brown

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

a href="http://www.blackagendareport.com/node/14481" target="_blank">Police don’t murder Black people all by themselves; they have accomplices in media. The New York Times routinely “gives aid and comfort to American lynch law.” In the case of Michael Brown, the Times impugned Brown’s character and muddied facts to favor the accused policeman. The cop had other friends in media. “Charles Blow and Van Jones disgracefully made the case for Wilson on CNN and acted as a defense team for him and for all of white America.”

    Freedom Rider: Privatized Ebola

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has used its billions to capture control of the World Health Organization and determine who lives and dies from Ebola. As a result, “While African governments and aid organizations sounded the alarm the WHO did little” to contain the disease or mitigate the suffering. “The principles of public health should be carried out by knowledgeable medical professionals who are not dependent upon rich people for their jobs.”

Freedom Rider: The Real Ebola Conspiracy

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

It would be redundant for the U.S. to “weaponize” Ebola in order to kill Africans. “The monetary and foreign policies they already have do that quite well,” resulting in the violent slaughter of millions, mortality in the tens of millions from well known diseases, and the routine theft of the continent’s resources. “That is enough conspiracy for anyone to follow without inventing tales of government plots.”

Freedom Rider: Good Riddance to Eric Holder

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Blacks and very fuzzy liberals magnify outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder’s modest, mainly verbal, accomplishments while apologizing for his monstrous crimes against civilization and the rule of law. “The only thing more noteworthy than the horror of the president proclaiming his right to kill at will was the lack of reaction to the attorney general’s bizarre assertion” that due process does not require access to the courts.

Freedom Rider: An Evening with Nicolas Maduro

By BAR Editor and Senior Columnist Margaret Kimberley

Venezuelan President Maduro, in the spirit of his predecessor, Hugo Chavez, visited the Bronx on his way to the United Nations General Assembly opening session. Maduro is eager to speak to Americans about “social struggle,” even as the U.S. government attempts to strangle his country’s revolution. Heroic Venezuela, “whose only crime is to ... try to transcend capitalism.”

Freedom Rider: Theodore Roosevelt and American Racism

By BAR Editor and Senior Columnist Margaret Kimberley

As a settler state built with stolen labor on stolen land, the US has found it necessary to invent a fake history sanitizing and justifying its genocidal wars of conquest and empire. The currently airing PBS series Roosevelts: an Intimate History fulfills this need by mostly ignoring Teddy Roosevelt's venal and vicious racism and the pervasive criminality of his family and class.

    Freedom Rider: NATO Loses Ukraine

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

President Obama provokes one world crisis after another, most of which wind up leaving the U.S. weaker and more isolated than before. “The United States and its allies won’t give up the failing strategy because they have no other plan for keeping the leaking ship afloat.”

Freedom Rider: Liar in a Tan Suit

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

President Obama behaves as if he lives in an alternative universe, one in which ISIS and other jihadists in Syria were not armed and funded by the U.S. and its allies, and Russian-speaking Ukrainians did not rise up of their own volition against the fascist takeover in Kiev. Russian President Putin seems like a great leader, in comparison, if only because he speaks in the language of reality.

Freedom Rider: Van Jones and Charles Blow Absolve White America

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

U.S. corporate media have made it easy to identify Black “leaders” and “spokespersons” to call on at times of racial crisis. They simply hire them. Van Jones and Charles Blow are part of well paid cadre of Blacks whose main talent is telling white people what they want to hear. “In the glare of black anger they make it clear that they are on the side of the well paying gig which means they are the enemies of the people they are alleged to represent.”

Freedom Rider: American Terror Lives On

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

After every police atrocity against Black people, white people react with surprise and ask, What went wrong? The answer lies in the central fact of American life and history: white supremacy. “In the absence of any desire to leave the past behind, police brutality is inevitable.”

Freedom Rider: Climate Change – Point of No Return

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The Russian Arctic belches deadly methane as global warming pushes the biosphere beyond the tipping point. We have a choice: revolution or extinction. “The profit motive must be eliminated in favor of managed economies that limit growth, fairly distribute resources, regulate the polluting industries and activities, and end the gross inequalities of this gilded age.”

Freedom Rider: The Causes of World War III

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The world is being enveloped by chaos, dragged towards an apocalypse of unknown proportions by its sole superpower. “The absence of a competing power only emboldened the United States to renew its long history of intervention, invasion and aggression.” Washington is huffing and puffing a grotesque ultimatum to the planet: submit, or we will bring down all of humanity’s houses.

Freedom Rider: Putin in America’s Crosshairs

by BAR editor and columnist Margaret Kimberley

Why did 300 people plummet to their deaths over Ukraine? The answer is not in the minutia of one small battlefield, but in the wild and frenzied behavior of the superpower that is intent on global rule. “There would be no BUK missiles in Ukraine, no uprooted refugees, and no bloodshed if the United States and other NATO nations had not picked a fight with Russia.”

Freedom Rider: American and Israeli War Crimes

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

How should one describe the U.S.-Israeli relationship? “Co-conspirators”? “Co-dependents”? “Frenemies”? “The corporate media in the United States and other western nations ignore, minimize or tell outright lies about the ongoing massacre” of Palestinians, but surely the Israeli media would do the same for the U.S. How about “Co-enablers in War Crimes”?

Freedom Rider: Who Prosecutes the Prosecutors?

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

There are many tens of thousands of prisoners unjustly serving sentences “twice as long as any of the Central Park Five victims.” Mass Black incarceration is inseparable from official and societal corruption. Cops and, especially, prosecutors “are never charged when they suborn perjury, falsify evidence, threaten witnesses and use the power of the state in a myriad of ways to prevent mostly poor, black people from getting justice.

Freedom Rider: Democratic Blame for SCOTUS Rulings

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

With corporations firmly in control of the electoral process, and the federal judiciary packed with right-wing judges, all three branches of government are in hostile hands. “Americans are fighting for their lives against corporate greed, white supremacy and misogyny because they are at the mercy of the two conservative political parties which control this country.”

    Freedom Rider: Detroit and Iraq

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The Race to the Bottom under global, militarized capitalism creates communities of shared misery. Increasingly, it is almost as dangerous to be inside U.S. borders as on the outside. “Iraq was invaded with soldiers, guns and bombs. Detroit was invaded by the corporate ‘suits’ who made a fast buck for themselves.” Both are plundered by the same bandits.

Freedom Rider: America’s War Crime in Iraq

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

For the people of the Middle East, the American war never ended; it continued under the brutal, U.S.-backed jihadists who ravaged Syria, and have struck at Iraq with a vengeance. In the United States, George Bush gets the blame for the Iraq War while the First Black President reignites the region with his proxy wars and apocalyptic threats. “Imperialism is still on the move and now has a more shrewd personification in the person of Barack Obama.”

Freedom Rider: Working Families Party Betrayal

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

As the Democrats bear steadily rightward, their so-called “progressive” camp followers do likewise. In New York, the Working Families Party endorses businessman’s champion Andrew Cuomo and, in Chicago, an SEIU local donates $25,000 of the members’ money to corporate mayor Rahm Emanuel. From compromise to collapse, the left-liberals and union careerists are on the road to oblivion.

    Freedom Rider: Miners Shot Down

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

A new film, Miners Shot Down, shows in graphic detail the massacre of dozens of miners at Marikana, South Africa, in 2012. “Footage from the South African police shows the miners being penned in by barbwire, mowed down by a fusillade and the survivors being hunted down yet again.” The slaughter may mark the beginning of the end of a Black-led regime that sold out its people.

Freedom Rider: Police Target Black Children

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

When white teachers handcuff first graders, or white police throw Black tweens through glass windows, or shoot unarmed youths, it may be because of racially warped perceptions. “Black children are dehumanized to such an extent that they aren’t perceived as children at all,” says a recent study. “In some cases, black children may be viewed as adults when they are just 13 years old.”
